One of Britain’s biggest sporting events, Wimbledon, is underway as the world’s best battle it out in Southwest London.
There are many reasons why Wimbledon is unique – from strawberries and cream to Henman Hill, it’s a place that creates special moments.
Carlos Alcaraz will be back on the grass after beating Novak Djokovic last year, stopping the Serbian from passing Roger Federer’s record number of wins at Wimbledon.
However, Djokovic is back and in contention yet again, along with Australian Open winner and top seed Jannik Sinner.
Meanwhile, Marketa Vondrousova become the first unseeded women’s player to win Wimbledon last year but her title defence ended in the first round.
Instead, Poland’s Iga Swiatek will be eyeing glory as the top seed while Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula and Elena Rybakina are among the favourites too.
