Trevoh Chalobah has been banished from Chelsea’s first-team facilities as they look to force him out of the club, talkSPORT understands.
Chalobah joins Romelu Lukaku and Armando Broja in being exiled from Enzo Maresca’s senior squad.
Chelsea are keen to offload Chalobah and are taking a ruthless approach to trimming their squad ahead of the new season.
The Blues believe that by taking such a stance it avoids giving the player false hope of playing a part in the first team.
The defender has four years remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge.
Chalobah had already been left out of Chelsea’s pre-season squad for their summer tour, with the club making it very clear that his future lies away from the club.
As a result, the 25-year-old will now be keen to secure a move away from Chelsea, with interest from the Premier League and around Europe likely.
However, with a lucrative deal that doesn’t expire until 2028, Chalobah won’t move on for the sake of it and can afford to be picky when it comes to choosing his next destination.
Having come through the youth setup in West London, Chalobah is a big favourite among supporters.
The defender has gone on to make 80 appearances for Chelsea’s first time, scoring five times in the process.
Should he move on this summer, he’ll follow in the footsteps of another high-profile academy graduate.
Conor Gallagher is on the cusp of completing a £34million move to Atletico Madrid.
Gallagher had just one year left on his deal at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea banishing him from the first team as well as they looked to force him out.
Chelsea have already sold Ian Maatsen, Omari Hutchinson and Lewis Hall this summer.
Thiago Silva, Hakim Ziyech and Malang Sarr have also left the club on a free transfer.
Chelsea’s season gets underway next week when they host Man City on Sunday, August 18.
