Tom Cruise stole the show at the Olympic closing ceremony as he rappelled down from the top of the Stade de France.
The Hollywood legend left it late to make his eagerly-awaited appearance at the ceremony, but he didn’t disappoint fans.
After speeches were made, attention then turned towards the next Games at Los Angeles in 2028.
And it was Mission Impossible actor Cruise who was given the task of transporting the Olympic flag from the City of Love to the City of Angels.
The 62-year-old rappelled from the top of the stadium with the iconic song of the hit franchise playing in the background.
He was swiftly mobbed by the buzzing athletes on the pitch, before being handed the Olympic flag by USA gymnast Simone Biles.
From there, he jumped on a motorbike before whizzing out the stadium.
Fans were then treated to a (pre-recorded) video of Cruise, where he could be seen riding through the streets of Paris.
He then made his way onto a plane, where in classic Cruise fashion, he jumped out after arriving Stateside.
And after parachuting down, it was revealed to the viewers that he had landed at Hollywood.
The camera then panned to the Olympic rings being intertwined with the famous Hollywood sign.
The drama didn’t stop there, with Cruise handing the flag over to mountain biker Kate Courtney.
Four-time Olympic gold medallist Michael Johnson then took time out his punditry career to pass the flag to skateboarder Jagger Eaton.
And it then ended up at Venice Beach, where fans gathered to watch Red Hot Chili Peppers and Billie Eilish perform.
The fun didn’t stop there, with legendary rapper Snoop Dogg being passed the mic to continue his love affair with the Olympics, before being joined by Dr Dre.
Snoop Dogg has been a regular attendee at Paris 2024, where it has been claimed he will pocket £11.78million by the NBC.
And it was him who had the honour of waving the flag for the final time.
If it’s anything like that montage that played, fans are in store for a truly unforgettable Los Angeles 2028 games.
