The 2023/24 Premier League title winners will be decided on the final day of the season as Arsenal and Manchester City push each other all the way.
Liverpool were in the race, but cannot now mathematically win the league, meaning it’s a head-to-head battle between these two fabulous sides.
The Gunners’ 1-0 win over Manchester United was their 27th league victory this season – a club record.
Crucially, it is this result that ensures we are in for a hell of a week.
Arsenal
Arsenal can still become champions of England for the first time since 2004, and they might not even have to win their last match against Everton.
The Gunners are currently one point clear of Pep Guardiola’s side, so if City were to lose both of their games, the Gunners would be crowned champions even if Everton were to beat them on the last day.

Mikel Arteta’s men would also become champions should City only pick up one point from their last two matches and the Gunners lose, winning on goal difference.
However, we must take into account the fact City haven’t lost in the league since December, so it’s very unlikely they’ll drop five points from their last two.
A couple of draws for the Citizens would leave them on 87 points, meaning Arsenal would take the title from City with the spoils shared against the Toffees.
Another fascinating scenario in which Arsenal would take the title on goal difference would be if Tottenham were to hold City to a draw.
If this were to happen, it would mean the Gunners would take the Premier League title on the last day as long as they matched City’s result.
Arsenal would also be crowned champions should they beat Everton and City were to take just four points from their last two games.
Manchester City
For City to win a fourth consecutive Premier League title, they probably need to win both of their remaining games.
If they beat Tottenham and West Ham, Guardiola’s men will be champions of England once more.
Of course, there are some other scenarios which will see them crowned champions, but that involves Arsenal and themselves dropping points.
If City lose to Tottenham, they could still win the league on the last day with a win over West Ham as long as Arsenal lose or draw to Everton.
If the points are shared at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Citizens would pip the Gunners to the title if they beat the Irons and the Gunners dropped points against the Toffees.
The most exciting way City could win the league is if they and Arsenal beat their opponents, but the Citizens manage to overhaul the goal difference gap, which stands at three.
So, we could get to a point where both Arsenal and Man City are trying to outscore each other to become champions.
But we must remember that despite all of these possible scenarios, the title is in City’s hands because if they beat Tottenham and West Ham, they’ll become champions again.
