Netherlands vs France is the standout fixture in Group D of Euro 2024.
The two nations meet in Leipzig on Friday and BoyleSports has the ideal offer if you think France will win. France is one of the pre-tournament favourites. The Netherlands can beat anybody on their day. The match promises to be a cracker.
Here’s what to bet on!
- Tip #1: France to win
- Tip #2: BTTS
- Tip #3: Giroud to score 1st
Both teams have won one from one so far. The Netherlands had to come from behind to beat Poland 2-1 on Sunday. The Oranje needed a late winner from Wout Weghhorst to clinch the victory. France won their opening Group D fixture 1-0 against Austria. But the win did come at a cost with captain Kylian Mbappe suffering a broken nose.
The three picks needed to win this bet all look to have a great chance of coming in.
The French may be without the injured Kylian Mbappe. There is talk of a mask being made to allow him to play. But even without their talisman, they have enough quality within their ranks to beat the Dutch.
Didier Deschamps can still call on top-quality forwards like Antoine Griezmann, Olivier Giroud, Ousmane Dembélé, Marcus Thurman and Kingsley Coman. Having such strength in depth makes a win for the French the most likely outcome, even if Mbappe is missing.
The French have enough quality within their ranks to score at least once against the Dutch. Their striking options are frightening and that is why they are joint-favourite to win Euro 2024.
The Dutch also have some top-notch goalscoring talent to call upon. Two names that leap out are Memphis Depay and Cody Gakpo. But the options don’t end there. Bayer Leverkusen striker Jeremie Frimpong has been in excellent form this season, and Woug Weghorst also never lets his country down. BTTS has a great chance of winning in this showdown.
- Tip #3 Giroud to score 1st
Talking of players who never let their nation down brings us nicely to our third tip. Olivier Giroud did have limited involvement in the win over Austria. He also air-kicked a late chance after he joined the action from the bench in the dying stages.
It’s unlike Giroud, who has 57 goals for his country. If Mbappe doesn’t play, expect Giroud to play a prominent role. Even if Mbappe does make the starting lineup, Giroud may well lead the line given the captain’s obvious facial injuries. Giroud rarely goes a long time without finding the back of the net. Expect him to bounce back with a goal against the Dutch.
