Nedim Bajrami has scored the quickest ever European Championship goal in Albania’s flying start against Italy.
With just 23 seconds on the clock, the Sassuolo star took advantage of a poor throw-in and fired into the roof of the net.
Along with everyone watching, reigning champions Italy were simply left stunned by falling behind less than a minute into the game.
Bajrami’s strike has also made history as the quickest goal ever scored at the Euros.
Dmitri Kirichenko previously held the title when he scored for Russia in their 2-1 win against Greece at Euro 2004.
However, Bajrami has absolutely smashed the record in Germany and did so with an excellent strike to send Albania fans wild.
Their lead didn’t last long through as Alessandro Bastoni equalised for Italy on 11 minutes, doing so unmarked inside the area.
Luciano Spalletti’s side then went ahead themselves just moments later courtesy of a thumping effort from Nicolo Barella.
Fans inside the Signal Iduna Park were treated to an epic opening run of minutes, with Euro 2024 certainly off and running.
