Team GB has one last hope for a boxing gold medal in Paris and his name is Lewis Richardson.
The Brits have had a nightmare in the ring so far at the Olympics, with the first five boxers to compete being beaten.
Richardson was last up and he brilliantly ended that losing streak, beating Serbia’s Vakhid Abbasov and keeping his country’s dwindling medal hopes alive before he then saw off Zeyad Eashash to guarantee a medal.
But the chance of claiming gold is still there and talkSPORT.com has taken a look at when you can next see him in action…
When is Richardson’s next fight?
Richardson will take to the ring again on Tuesday, August 6.
He will face Mexico’s Marco Verde in the semi-finals of the men’s welterweight event.
The bout is expected to take place at 8:46pm.
It was close to being Team GB boxing’s first wipeout at the Olympics since 1996, with Delicious Orie, Rosie Eccles, Charley Davison, Chantelle Reid and Patrick Brown all losing.
But Richardson remains in the competition and the 27-year-old will have the support of all of his teammates against Verde despite their own personal disappointment.
Should he win, the final takes place on Friday, August 9 at 8:30pm.
If he loses, he still takes home a bronze.
Speaking after progressing, Richardson said: “I am elated, but there are so many words to describe how I am feeling.
“I am super proud. It’s a special moment in my life.
“The further I get, the more attention it draws, so long may it continue.”
