There has been an update on Joe Hendry’s WWE future following his surprise appearance on last night’s NXT show.
Hendry was the latest TNA Wrestling star to cross the line to WWE NXT last night, when he made a surprise appearance in the NXT Championship number one contender’s Battle Royal to open the show.
Hendry was eliminated in short order by TNA rival Frankie Kazarian, but he received a hero’s welcome by the fans in Orlando, as well as cut a promo and appeared in a backstage segment with Shawn Michaels.
Hendry warned Michaels that he could appear on any show at any time, seemingly implying that he would make more appearances for the company in the future.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), Hendry is expected to make more appearances for NXT in the future, with NXT sources that spoke to Fightful said to be ‘very happy’ with the reaction he received.
TNA sources that Fightful spoke to were happy with the storyline advancement between Hendry and Kazarian on the NXT show, though some others had wished he would have had a more extended appearance in the Battle Royal.
