Fulham vs Manchester City predictions
Manchester City are edging ever closer to another Premier League title. With three games left, Pep Guardiola’s side have the luxury of knowing that their fate is in their own hands.
That is despite the fact that City are second in the standings heading into the weekend. Arsenal are a point ahead of the defending champions as things stand, but they have played a game more.
That means victories over Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United would be enough to see City win their fourth consecutive title.
That would set a new record in English top-flight history. Up to now, no club has managed to stay on top for four successive seasons. Not for the first time under Guardiola, City can break new ground.
The bookmakers’ favourites barely skipped a beat last time out. A few hours after Arsenal beat Bournemouth 3-0 to open up a four-point lead at the summit, City strolled to a 5-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
This weekend, it is Guardiola’s side who play first. In theory that gives an advantage. A win in west London would see them go top and pile the pressure on Arsenal ahead of their trip to Manchester United on Sunday.
Indeed, this may yet be a decisive weekend in the title race. A slip-up for either side would hand the other the edge.
On paper, a trip to Old Trafford looks trickier than a visit to Craven Cottage. Yet although Manchester United are capable of raising their game, they are in dire straits right now. Fulham have actually collected more points than the Red Devils over the last three months.
Even so, it is difficult to see City slipping up here. Guardiola’s team can climb into first place on Saturday. Then it will be over to Arsenal to respond.
Fulham vs Manchester City betting tips
Manchester City will expect to get the job done against Fulham in Saturday’s early kick-off.
Manchester City to win and both teams to score – 11/8 (Betfred)
Fulham have achieved their principal objective for the season by remaining in the Premier League. It is to Marco Silva’s credit that his side have barely been troubled by the bottom three since the big kick-off last August.
Currently 13th in the table, Fulham are unlikely to finish in the top half. They will still be looking to finish as high up as possible, but it is fair to say that the Cottagers have shown signs of being ‘on the beach’ of late.

A team with only one win in its last seven games will struggle to halt the Manchester City juggernaut, but Fulham have scored in six of their last seven at Craven Cottage.
City, for their part, have conceded in four of their last six matches in the Premier League. We like the look of goals at both ends on Saturday, so combine that with an away win in the capital.

Manchester City to score in both halves – 4/6 (bet365)
With Erling Haaland now looking back to his sharpest (more on which below), Manchester City’s attack just got even scarier.
There is an abundance of quality available to Guardiola in forward areas, with the likes of Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden more than capable of chipping in with goals.
And if the City boss opts to ring the changes either before or during the clash with Fulham, Jack Grealish and Jeremy Doku are waiting in the wings.
Whichever XI Guardiola puts out this weekend will cause Fulham’s defence problems. In the reverse fixture from the first half of the campaign, City smashed five goals past Silva’s side.
The champions have an additional incentive: with goal-difference ground to make up on Arsenal, every strike helps City’s cause. That bodes ill for their opponents.

Erling Haaland to score any time – 3/5 (Betfred)
It is not unfair to say Haaland has not been at his best at times in 2024. There has been criticism of his all-round game in recent weeks, while the Norway international even went three matches without a goal – quite the dry spell for a player with his track record.
Last time out, Haaland was back doing what he does best. A four-goal haul powered Manchester City past Wolves and put the striker in a strong position in the battle for the Golden Boot.
Fulham will now have to face a more confident Haaland, who must have been delighted to get back on track in such emphatic fashion.
Given they have nothing to play for, it will be hard for the Cottagers to defend with the same intensity as they did earlier in the campaign. Haaland has all the tools to take full advantage.
